The
location: Venice is divided into
six districts, known as 'Sestieri'. Dorsoduro's name, (literally
'hard ridge') describes the nature of the land in this area,
slightly higher and more compact than elsewhere.
The
Calle Nani is located in Dorsoduro, one of the
preferred residential areas of Venice at just
a 15 minutes walking from "San Marco", near Accademia and
Zattere, yet removed from the tourist routes. Dorsoduro is a
very quiet, elegant neighbourhood with shaded squares, bright
canals and picturesque residences with a wide embracing laggoon
view from the Zattere across to the island Giudecca.
